Good woman with a gun stops man firing AR-15 into crowd attending a graduation party in Charleston.
"Police said a woman who was lawfully carrying a pistol shot and killed a man who began shooting at a crowd of people Wednesday night in Charleston.
Dennis Butler was killed after allegedly shooting at dozens of people attending a graduation party Wednesday near the Vista View Apartment complex. No injuries were reported from those at the party.
Investigators said Butler was warned about speeding in the area with children present before he left. He later returned with an AR-15-style firearm and began firing into the crowd before he was shot and killed.
“Instead of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives last night,” Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett said.
Officers did not go into detail, but said Butler did have an extensive criminal history.
Hazelett said no charges will be filed against the woman."
MISSOURI WOMAN FIGHTS OFF JUVENILE CARJACKER
A St.Louis woman was accosted by two males. One was an adult and one juvenile. The juvenile asked to use her phone. On being tole the woman did not have a phone, the 13 yo robber drew a gun and demanded her money and car keys. The women complied. A few minutes later, then the robbers were distracted, the woman drew her own gun and shot at the youth, putting both robbers to flight. NEBRASKA EMPLOYEE STOPS MASS SHOOTING
A Superior employee was terminated from his job at a grain elevator but returned later with a handgun and fired on people at work. An employee got a shotgun from a office and fired at the shooter, stopping the threat, but not before the irate ex employee had murdered one person and mortally wounded the another. ALABAMA WOMAN DEFENDS AGAINST A KNIFE ATTACK

Pennsylvania Teen shoots Pizza Restaurant Robber
A Phili Teen was in his Mother's place of employment around 2200 hrs. A robber came in and reached across the counter and started taking money out of the cash register. The mom tried to stop the robber. The robber grabbed the mom and tried to strangle her. The teen seeing this, took up a pistol that was under the counter and shot the robber in the face. Armed Pennsylvania man stops mass shooting.
A Lancaster man was in a shopping mall with his wife on a Sunday. He heard gunshots. He sent his wife in the opposite direction of the shoot and the man, who was a ccw carrier, and ran toward the shooting. He confronted the shooter who just shot 3 people. The shooter fired and missed and the sheepdog returned fire hitting the attacker and holding him at gunpoint for the responding police. The county prosecutor commended the armed citizen later saying things could have been much worse if the sheepdog had not intervened. Source: Patriot News , Lancaster Penn.
CALIFORNIA HOMEOWNER DEFENDS AGAINST ARMED ROBBERS
An Oceanside resident was being robbed at gunpoint at around 1 a.m. when he grabbed a gun and fired on his assailants killing one and putting the others to flight. Other suspects in the robbery were arrested when police stopped a suspicious car that turned out to contain a man suffering a gunshot wound. The wounded man was out on bond for another crime.

WISCONSIN MAN SURVIVES SHOOTOUT WITH ROBBERS
Milwaukee man and his girlfriend were returning home one night when multiple armed assailants accosted them. Drawing his own pistol, the would-be victim fired on the robbers, who returned fire before fleeing. The male defender, who was wearing body armor I was shot twice in the attack and believes he wounded one of the robbers.
